ZAK&CHARLOTTEstudio

With the aim of transforming performance art and theatre through a blend of physical and virtual workflows, Zak and Charlotte explore how movement can influence a hybrid stage. Driven by themes of existentialism and memory, they work together to visualise and make the “intangible” immersive. Balancing between research-based systemic design and performance-through-play approach, they collaborate to produce unique and highly adaptive pieces of experimental theatre.

about:

Zak Silver-Lennard and Charlotte Gillain are a live production creative duo based in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Charlotte Gillain has had a great fascination for making, moving and performing from an early age. After a short visit to the Bachelor of Dance in Education at ArtEZ, she graduated from the Mime School Amsterdam in 2021. There she was not only able to develop her movement quality and her performance skills, but she also became a passionate maker. Here she could finally combine her fascination for playing, moving and making. As a maker, she is intrigued by transformation and has a great predilection for the existential. In recent years she’s developed a love for interdisciplinary work, especially with digital technologies.
